Scalp Micropigmentation is a highly skilled procedure that creates the appearance of tiny hair follicles on the scalp. It is considered the most effective treatment for hair loss in both men and women.
-
The treatment is suitable for those who are balding or have lost hair density, those who don’t have enough hair density after a hair transplant, those who have head trauma or hair transplant scars, and those who have one of the numerous types of alopecia.
-
A specialized SMP tattoo gun is used to deposit pigments of tiny dots within the upper layers of skin on your scalp. Each ‘dot’ replicates an individual shaven hair follicle.
-
Most individuals who undergo this procedure say that it is less painful than getting a tattoo. Some even say the feeling is therapeutic, some clients have even fallen asleep during the procedure.
-
No, as we only use a carbon based black pigment which is diluted to match your skin tone.
-
Rest assured that the scalp micropigmentation treatment is entirely safe. We prioritise sterilization and use brand new packaged needles for each procedure. I take my health and safety seriously, and I am fully regulated and insured.
-
Results of completed treatments will last for years, where it very gradually fades, depending on lifestyle and immune system. Many people like to have a top-up session after 2 or 3 years just to keep their new style looking fresh.
-
The number of sessions needed depends on the individual’s condition. A typical client with androgenetic alopecia (standard pattern hair loss) may need 2-4 SMP treatment sessions, with two to three being the most common.
-
For the best possible outcome, we recommend allowing the treated area to dry heal for at least four days after each session. During this time, you'll need to avoid getting the area wet or applying any ointments, creams, or lotions. Once the four-day period is over, you can gradually resume your regular physical activities.
-
Maintenance includes shaving your head every 1-3 days depending on how fast your hair grows, cleansing and moisturizing your scalp daily, and taking appropriate precautions to protect your scalp from intense sunlight.
